About

Mehrban Iranshad, founder of Tennis Files

Player. Podcast host. Lifelong learner.

Hi, I’m Mehrban.
Let’s keep improving.

Welcome to Tennis Files! I share practical lessons from the court and conversations with tennis experts to help you improve your game.

If you love tennis and want to make more of your practice and match time, you’re in the right place.

From a local park to a lifelong pursuit

My dad introduced me to tennis at a local park when I was seven. When he saw how much I enjoyed playing, he signed me up for tennis camp. My mom and dad then invested even more in my tennis by getting me private lessons.

At eleven, I reached the semifinals of my first tournament. I was hooked. With my parents’ support, I kept competing, and my rankings continued to climb.

A highlight of my college tennis career was winning our conference championship and facing Duke in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

After college, I took a break from tennis during law school. Once law school was over, my passion for the game and competing returned.

Tennis has given me wonderful friendships, experiences, and opportunities. I’m grateful to my mom and dad for the countless hours and financial support they put into helping me play. They made so much of this journey possible.

My playing background

I played Division I college tennis and reached No. 7 in my section and approximately No. 230 nationally as a junior. I’ve also competed in USTA leagues at the 5.0 level.

Why I created Tennis Files

My goal has always been to get better at tennis. I created Tennis Files to share what I keep learning and give back to the game that has given me so much.

Through the Tennis Files Podcast, articles, and videos, I share lessons from coaches, players, and my own experience. You’ll find ideas for your technique, match strategy, training, and mindset that you can take into your next practice.

It will be more fun if we improve our tennis games together.
